Battleship USS Iowa served our country proudly in WWII, Korea, and the Cold War. Today, the historic U.S. Navy ship is an iconic Los Angeles landmark and considered one of the region’s best outdoor museums for families and visitors of all ages. Follow in the footsteps of sailors and their mischievous mascot Vicky the Dog, and experience first hand why she is known as the “Battleship of Presidents”, “The Grey Ghost”, and “The Big Stick”.
Parking is accessible from 1st Street & Harbor Boulevard. The first hour is free, and then just a few dollars an hour after that.
Download their app to access a self-guided tour of the ship. This exploration can take 2-3 hours depending on your interest level. No matter how much time you spend, your students won’t forget their experience on the Iowa!
