Travel Guide
The San Diego Zoo is one of the nation’s leading zoos. They have so many amazing animals that you may not ever get to see anywhere else! They have everything from medical facilities to breeding programs and interactive educational shows. The zoo is huge, and you may not even be able to see it all in one day. It’s also built on some hills, so plan to do a lot of walking and dress appropriately.
Parking is free and outside food is allowed. They do have some eateries located around the zoo if you’d rather purchase lunch on-site. The Zoo is located within Balboa Park, so there are a lot of other things to see nearby. You probably won’t have time to do anything but the zoo if you only have one day to spend, but if you’re able you may want to plan for more days and see the rest of the park. Your students will love their visit to this iconic zoo!
